A Sweet Proposal

Check out the below note that I recently received from one of my radio listeners! Talk about a FABULOUS proposal!

Dear Steve,

Thanks to a long commute to work in the mornings I found your segment during the 7:00am hour on the Gene and Julie show on 103.7 FM. It’s definitely the best way to start my drive into downtown every morning. Unfortunately a job change will have me in the office during your segment after next week. :(

I have been a cupcake fanatic for the last few years (since my first visit to Billy’s Bakery in NYC) I love try bakeries around town and when I travel. My boyfriend lives in Washington DC and we love going to Georgetown Cupcake when I’m up there visiting; several weeks ago your “what’s hot” pick was Georgetown Cupcake and of course I got goosebumps of excitement hearing someone in Dallas mention it. Fast forward to two weeks ago; I was in DC to visit my boyfriend for his birthday and naturally I ordered tasty treats from Georgetown Cupcake for the party (what goes better with beer and liquor than cupcakes, right?). Upon my arrival we made a quick stop to the FDR memorial to rescue my boyfriend’s stranded cousin (her cab broke down in the area). As we walked around looking aimlessly for cousin Sara, we took a break and sat on a bench waiting for her to find us. Out of nowhere my darling boyfriend says he picked up a cupcake from Georgetown Cupcake for me. My first thought was “What the heck, it’s 10:30 in the morning!” I carefully opened the pink box with the brown ribbon … and much to my surprise… a perfectly placed diamond ring in a holder made of fondant topped a fabulous vanilla cupcake (my favorite flavor)! As for cousin Sara’s broken cab … totally fabricated story to get me to the FDR memorial!!
